Safety mats

Safety mats do not just mean switch matting. That is Safety mats with a built in switch, when someone steps off the mat the machine shuts down. With that said, that type of safety mat is not the only reason that the word safety is attached to it. Different colors, or safety color stripping down the sides. The color is very nice because workers will pick up on the color difference and find the mat, safer for all. Some other Safety mats would have a non skid or anti slip surface, again it speaks for its self no slipping means safety. However, a lot of mats and matting companies say slip proof or slip resistant, take a logical look at this, what is the design and how or where does the slip resistance come from? Take a look at the picture below, notice the Large Square openings? Square openings means less matting in between the openings also a nice square edge to catch the foot. More opening gives more area for the foot to grab onto and this equals better traction! Not to mention the cross tread design on the bottom and the top of the mat, I like this!

Ok, what else makes a "Safety Mat"? How about those large square openings, they serve another purpose. With less mat and more opening whatever falls will fall into an opening or if it does fall on the mat there is only 1/4" of material there so odds are whatever it is will soon fall into the openings. Now you are walking on the mat not on all the debris or liquids, and this has to be safer! Not to mention the neat little piles of square dirt that is left  on the floor when you roll the mat up, not stuck up in the mat. The large square safety openings also help with clean up, the mat rolls easier because of them and the debris are not caught up in the mat.

hope this helps you stay safer! -click the mat for more information-
